yeah thats fine it’s ment to buzz a little but not to much. if it’s buzzing very loud it’s most probably got distortion on. If it hasn’t got distortion on and it’s making a buzzing sound i’d stay away from it

    I have a question, …
I have a question, I went to a pawn shop today to look for electric guitars and i have never played an electric but i have played an acoustic but today when i was trying out the guitars i noticed that there was a buzzing in the amp when i was playing and on some of the guitars i would hear a louder buzzing on certian pickups. I wanted to know if this was normal and if not was it the guitar or the amp or the cable?

    Great advice. I …
Great advice. I have 26 guitars, most bargain basement. I get them cheap from antique malls, pawn shops, garage sales–I even won one!–and the occasional floor model drastically reduced. Don’t forget small mom and pop guitar shops. I know of one that will not let you leave until they made a deal.

For the more adventurous, some might need work. I’ve sanded one down and another needed a shim–but overall, the deals are out there if you’re willing to look.

    Thanks for the post!

top advice. just looked at my first guitar always sounded twangey, fret board is slightley twisted

  • MRWHITE3535:

    Fender Acoustic …
Fender Acoustic CD140s, i have just measured the low E string on the 12th fret it measured 4.45 mm which is a lot higher than I am used to, and I’ve already filed the saddle down abit so imagine it before! The strings are 12s, is this normal for an acoustic guitar? As I need to press the strings down quite a bit more than my electric to make them sound clear. I’m sorry if this sounds stupid but it is my first acoustic guitar,

I’d suggest craigslist, pawnshops and local instrument shops before ordering online. That way you can play them before you buy.

the strings break lol sorry man i actually do that thats how i found mine

  • plumberman19:

    action is reffering …
action is reffering to the distance from the string to the top of the fret

  • NuAmBaniDeBere:

    the action is the …
the action is the distance between the griff and strings at the twelve(12) frett. it should be around 0.4cm.
if it’s lower than that you really should consider to check every frett of our guitar and make sure you don’t get frettbuzz.
also if is to high your guitar will become hard to play and you’ll be forced to push the strings very hard in order to make them sounds correct.

sorry if i wrote something worng, i’m romanian!

    hope that helped you!
