i have bought blues strings for my electric guitar, but when i wrap it around the post it only goes like to 3/4 of 1 round, and it is already tight and tuned. is that normal?

  • whonut:

    If the string is …
If the string is still slack it isn’t in tune. And if it snaps you are tuning too far i.e too sharp. Get yourself a tuner, a basic one is inexpensive.

    same theres no …
same theres no difference except in the style you play……there is no such thing as a certain kind of strings you should use it all comes down to preferance…I use 11 gauge cause i love playing Metallica and heavy stuff……10 gauge are all around standard strings and will give you a wide veriety of tone…….and 9 gauge are for those lighter high pitched strings more towards Yingwie Malmsteen and what not if that helps for what strings to get

    I have a problem, i …
I have a problem, i put the strings on, but when tunning on the first set of wining i get the E (thinest string) to a tune, the strings strill slackish, so if i keep turning the peg at the top till i get to the e again, by the time i get there the string will snap.

its like that on the first 3 strings but the last 3 strings are nice and tight, how do i get it tight and in tune without snapping the string.

its a strat type guitar but left handed
