  • havoc999998:

    So pretty much …
So pretty much Locking tuner’s are the same to use as regular tuners except you don’t have to wrap the string around the post, you just put it in Lock up the back and snip the excess string ?

Please tell me if I’m right lol…

I have the brushed finish. They are really nice. But I’m not sure of the difference when compared to the chrome ones…

  • brazilskater13:

    You said that you …
You said that you bought Schaller tuners, my question is were those were the brushed finish tuners or the regular chrome ones?

There seems to be a big price difference in the two, and I dont know whether it is due to quality or cosmetics.

But thanks for the vid, I’m thinking about getting these things soon.

  • deathblade7:

if you want to do …
if you want to do that you can leave more slack and let the string wrap more around the peg.

  • FlyFreebirdYeah:

Great humorous tutorial guys. “and sprinkle them… on my nut” LOOOL

  • Hughespipe:

    im not sure about …
im not sure about the tuning stability of locking tuners compared to normal ones but i know you can put it in a lower tuning just like normal and everything else reacts in the same way. If anything i would presume they stay in tune better because the little post is keeping the string in place and stopping it slipping and going out of tune

  • mickdasic:

    but do string get …
but do string get detuned easily? like my acoustic doesnt have locking tuners and every time the headstock gets hit it goes out of tune is it that easy to go out of tune?

  • Hughespipe:

    you can use any …
you can use any tuning, they act in the same way as normal tuners exept from when restringing they make it easier

  • mickdasic:

    with locking tuners …
with locking tuners am i confined to just one tuning or can i tune down from standard to a drop b any time i want?

  • CollyStrings:

    You don’t tune any …
You don’t tune any differently, you would simply just tune to drop a. This video mainly just shows the mechanism and how locking tuners work.

  • PaperBlades12:

    hmmm, if you tuned …
hmmm, if you tuned it that way, then how do you tune it down to a lower tuning? For example Drop A.

  • BullsharkPresents:

    Excellent video man …
Excellent video man. Good tips. And very funny too.

  • dwaswyf:

    Grover makes 2 …
Grover makes 2 types; 1 is like Schallers, so not much different there, and also an “auto-locking” sort of thing. Those are the best to go for, since you feed the string through, tight, and start tuning. That’s it.

  • CollyStrings:

    I haven’t used …
I haven’t used grover tuners, but my schallers are epic!

  • ferociouspokemachine:

    Are locking tuners …
Are locking tuners really worth getting? If so, which one’s better, Grover or Schaller?

  • CollyStrings:

    Typically just by …
Typically just by turning the peg you would get a decent wrap. But if you really wanted to wrap it, then it can’t really hurt.

  • HHHAAA111222:

    I have the grovers …
I have the grovers on a les paul but it’s new and have never changed strings. This was the only instructional vid I could find. (thanks again) With lockers do you still want at least one wrap around the peg – or just by virtue of tuning to pitch will you get a wrap or two?
