I studied classical guitar for a while. This guy is just playing by ear, he’s not doing the proper tech as someone else noticed.
Class. guitar requires you to read music. The low E is 3 lines below the staff and the higher notes go several lines above the staff. It’s challenging. You must read not only the note but also which fret and string it’s played on. Learn to read music before tackling class-guitar!

1) Yes, try and google some acoustic guitars and som nylon and you will soon be able to se the difference
2) That is how most classical (read: nylon)-acoustic guitar-players rest their guitar. mainly cause the classical acoustic guitar often has a smaller body and a shorter neck
