How to tune your guitar into Drop C (read description)
I show how to tune a standard tuned (EADGBE) guitar to Drop C.
First off, I make the 5th string (A) sound like the 3rd fret on the 6th string.
Then I tune…
…the 4th string to match the 5th fret on the 5th string.
…the 3rd string to match the 5th fret on the 4th string.
…the 2nd string to match the 4th fret on the 3rd string.
…the 1st string to match the 5th fret on the 2nd string.
…the 7th fret on the 6th string to match the 5th string.
The result is a Drop C tuning (CGCFAD).
I am sorry for the guitar, it’s not the most expensive one

if you tuned it …
if you tuned it DAFCGC it wouldnt be totally the same, you would just basically be playing different pitches i would think, im not real sure so if someone has anything they would like to add to this also go ahead. im no expert im just taking a wild guess that could maybe answer your question

i have a fender stratocaster and i just got heavier strings i adjusted the tremolo so that it doesn’t sit high but will i need to get new tuning machines to handle drop tunings?
