    on a floyd rose …
on a floyd rose type bridge you should probably start from the thickest and go to smallest string or bottom to top. its good to tune like that because if you have an old floyd rose type bridge just tuning can be a pain if you dont go from bottom to top because the way the springs and strings set.

    what string should …
what string should you start with????

    I think it should …
I think it should be done in both ways to make sure you are turning the stuff correctly without stripping anything but also checking the action with your eyes. although if the guitar does not have many problems with it or is fairly new u can probably rough it out by just tuning to whatever say E then pick the E string again on the 12th fret if they both pickup the same should be good.

    With all due …
With all due respect, isn’t this adjustment suppose to be made with the guitar in the playing position? In all the articles I’ve read on this adjustment, they emphasize to have it in the playing position….
