Best computer software on learning how to play the guitar?
just got a gibson explorer guitar from a family friend and now i am very interested in learning how to play but, i don’t have a lot of time on my hands for guitar lessons. so i was wondering if anyone knows any computer software that teaches how to play the guitar. price doesn’t matter. if it has video instructions that would be great. thanks

guitar pro (any version) is pretty cool. but you will learn more much faster if you take some lessons. lessons are usually a half hour per week at about $10 or $15 per lesson ($40 – $60 per month) You can’t interact with a video as you can with a teacher. That Gibson is a great guitar and deserves an investment of time. If you really want to learn than you will need to devote at least an hour a day or more to playing, with that in mind then a half hour a week for a lesson is time well spent. Invest in a few months of lessons with a good teacher and I will guarantee that you will learn more than you would in a year of "do it yourself" instruction!

If you can’t get any lession or anyone to teach you the song Guitar pro 5.2(latest Vision) which cost about 60$ USD and is really helpful you can slow down parts and all kinds of stuff

If you don’t have 60$ you can download Power tab editon 1.6 for free. Still very good but not as good as guitar pro.

You should try the guitar pro demo.

I started using a 3-DVD/book set called "Learn Rock Guitar" a couple months ago (after playing guitar for more than 20 years) and I’m amazed at how much I’m learning. It’s geared toward metal guitarists, but would be perfect for anyone who wants to play electric guitar. It starts with the very basics — tuning, how to hold a pick, how to strum — and takes you through everything you’ll need to know to play intricate solos. The whole set only costs $40 at Musician’s Friend, even though it has more information than you’d glean from years of private guitar lessons. It’s extremely good stuff. Here’s a link:

Hello, I have been playing guitar for over 15 years now. I have reviewed several online guitar sites. There is one that I highly recommend to all inspiring players and for good reason. It is very affordable, you can usually get it even cheaper than normal. The information that you get for the price is amazing. You also get several bonuses that will come in handy during learning. Here is the link to the site, you can have a closer look and see how this is by far one of the best programs. Good luck!
