Ergonomic FLAWS of Guitar Design – honest criticism
http://www.guitargnosis.com
A ‘flaw’ can be subjective, especially in the guitarist field, so please take this as my personal opinion. The first thing that I would do is move the volume knob out of the way and the pickup selector switch as well. I would rid the tone knob altogether, and make a few adjustments to the trem where your hand sits and rests to avoid making it go sharp. There’s much more where that came from, but hey, it’s a good start!
Some may not be bothered with these things, but I definitely am, as well as a plethora of other people. Some shredders are perfectly happy with the current ergonomic design of guitars (how Yngwie Malmsteen isn’t bothered by it I have no idea), but I’d rather have a custom model that rids these problems. Developing your technique around something that could be an easy fix seems a bit ridiculous, but hey, a lot seem to be satisfied with it as I said!
