How to change your guitar strings using the “tie” method

As I was changing the strings on my 1971 Guild D-35 I felt compelled to share my methods with all of my YouTube friends and watchers. This is what I believe to be the best way…it works for me (which is very important to me as a performer) and as I’ve shared it with friends it has also helped them. This is an opinion video based on my 35 years of experience…try it and see if it works for you also. I always recommend trying this before replacing anything on the guitar as it gets you close to what a locking tuner gets you. The next thing to look at when you have tuning issues is the nut…the most common cause of problems…and the string trees if there are any. Sometimes a little bit of graphite in the string slots (of the nut) when you change strings will do the trick, sometimes you need to do some filing or replacing. I will try to do a similar video for the next Strat and/or Tele I get as I have a few tricks that help keep them in tune as well as sounding their best. acoustic guitar : Not Perfect but .. one wierd thing about open tuning on acoustic is .. acoustic guitars are far from perfect in their intonation. what i mean is .. an open A should be and A at the 12th fret too .. and it NEVER IS .. electric guitars have intonation adjustment .. NOT ACOUSTICS .. so i have to tune the guitar HALF WAY between the 2 actual notes .. and then slightly bend them with my fingers when fretted .. i really wish i had a guitar with good action and GREAT INTONATION … till then some notes may sound a tiny bit to the left of in tune .. it’s the equipment .. a
