This is Part 6 of a series of videos that I’m releasing as my album draws closer to the finish line. In this part I track bass guitar and talk about the importance of new strings for that percussive sound. When tracking is done, we will move onto editing and then mixing. I will share my methods in editing and mixing later on and that is also when I will give tips about how to achieve a good guitar tone and so on. You should subscribe if you are interested in music, recording, mixing, tracking or anything that has to do with this because I will start from the beginning of a recording and take you all the way through to a finished album. The whole process is going to be documented.

Quick info about me: I’m just a guy who is trying to achieve a personal goal which is to single-handedly write and produce a full-length album. All instruments are played by me.

I will try to answer any questions in the comments so just ask away if you wonder about something I forgot to mention in the videos.

Thanks to Andy Sneap for hosting a great forum over at the ultimatemetal.com forums.

Mixing With The Pros Sample – Guitar Delay

Get it at http://musicbooksplus.com/mixing-With-pros-p-8117.html

You’ve purchased tutorial DVDs to learn how to use your Music software. Now learn how to mix – right from the pros!

In this video, James Tuttle will show you how EQs, compressors, limiters, reverbs, delays, amp simulators, automation, and mastering plugins are all used to craft a mix that has clarity, depth, punch, pop, and sizzle.

You’ll get to see how and when each are introduced and how the entire mix is adjusted continuously as more and more elements are added.

You’ll begin to see how professional mixers “see” and “hear” a mix as a whole rather than as disparate techniques.

The techniques in this tutorial can be applied to any software or hardware-based effects units. You’ll be able to examine the final settings for each and every plugin in the mix and finally understand how those settings are attained. – Not as one-off uses of presets, but as continual adjustments to the various elements of the mix.

For once, users can truly see what happens behind the scenes of a mixing session in a professional recording studio.
